Domestic Violence on the College Campus: Breaking the Cycle of Violence
The statistics can be startling—it is estimated that one in four college women become a victim of sexual assault by the time she graduates1. Also,
individuals between the ages of 18 to 24 account for 42% of domestic violence and intimate partner violence.2 Additionally, only 5% of completed and
attempted rapes are reported to the police.2
On Tuesday, August 10 we held a webinar about domestic violence on the college campus. After the webinar attendees had a better understanding of:
- How domestic violence and intimate partner abuse is defined
- The impact of domestic violence on victims
- What you can do to address this issue on your campus
Who should attend
This webinar provided helpful information to university and college counselors, faculty and administrators who were interested in getting a better understanding of domestic violence and learning what they can do about this issue on their own campus.
For those who were unable to attend, below is a recording of the webinar.
