Workplace Incidents
Workplace Crisis Response
Companies are often faced with an occurrence that causes stress and impacts employees in adverse ways – whether it is an on-the-job accident, a sudden death, or a major illness of a fellow staff person. An organization’s response to a workplace crisis can mean the difference between employees returning to previous levels of performance quickly or prolonged impairment. Because of the enormous impact of traumatic events, it is important to respond quickly. It has been found to be extremely beneficial to intervene shortly after such an occurrence to minimize the impact on employees. Without intervention, trauma reactions can become chronic and lead to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
AllOne Health provides management consultation, facilitates group and individual meetings with employees after a workplace crisis has occurred, and can also provide follow-up services. Additionally, AllOne Health offers training to Human Resources and other company personnel about critical incident stress in order to prepare for such occurrences and develop appropriate protocols.
Employers can take great comfort knowing that they have immediate support in the event of a workplace crisis. AllOne Health partners with employers to immediately attend to the needs of both the employees and the organization. Employee anxiety is lessened knowing that management took the event seriously and mobilized appropriate resources. Though a crisis on the job can alienate employees from their workplace and from each other, a well-orchestrated crisis response will ultimately strengthen an organizations functioning and foster employee trust.
On-site Layoff Support
Reorganizations and layoffs are enormously stressful to any organization – to management, to affected employees, and to surviving employees. People are often asked to do more with fewer resources and this can affect morale. Or there may be rumors about a possible reorganization or layoffs, resulting in heightening anxiety and affecting productivity. AllOne Health provides consultation and support around the most effective ways to manage change or lay-offs so as to minimize the adverse impact on remaining employees. We offer web-based training for supervisors on how to manage work groups during a period of change or layoffs, and can provide training for employees about managing change. In addition, EAP counselors can be on-site during the announcement of a reorganization or lay-off to assist any employees who may need to talk with a counselor immediately.
