Family Medical Leave Act Services

The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a complex federal law that allows every employee a job-protected, cumulative absence of up to 12 weeks per year. The act requires considerable expertise in the deciphering and application of guidelines, as well as the monitoring of health to ensure that job protection under the law is warranted. AllOne Health can manage your FMLA cases, including those unique and complicated absences that may require or warrant closer examination, within state, federal and company guidelines. We’ve developed considerable proficiency in managing FMLA cases, including those unique and complicated absences that may raise cause for closer scrutiny. Our network of clinicians provide second- and third-opinion medical examinations on behalf of employers nationwide, and as the law requires, issue certification of eligibility every six weeks.

The process is simple. When one of your employees is requesting a FMLA absence, that employee or an employer representative calls AllOne Health to determine eligibility. We’ll complete the intake and email a copy of the complete intake form to the appropriate representatives at your organization. We coordinate the FMLA process and reporting requirements and ensure treatment is provided in a timely manner. This includes:

  • Consult with the acute care provider and/or the treating physician to assure the employee’s optimum recovery
  • Establishing goals for that employee to return to work
  • Designing a plan for follow-up care and scheduling ongoing examinations as appropriate
  • Referring to rehabilitation specialists if necessary

We’ll work with the employee to determine the best ongoing communication process and will discuss the employee’s progress on a regular basis with the employee and their treating physician. We’ll set goals regarding return-to-work expectations and will continue to monitor employees who return to work in a modified capacity.

By working with AllOne Health for FMLA cases, your organization will spend less time and staff on the lengthy process of taking requests and tracking the leave until the employee returns to work. By outsourcing these services to us, we can provide unbiased decisions without the risk of discrimination towards the employee. Also, with nurse involvement from day one, we can review detailed medical information which may impact the leave request.
